Opening Boxing Day for PYO Peaches

The 2011/2012 fruit season commences on Dec 26 - Boxing day - with plenty of peaches to pick. The price remains unchanged at $3.50/kg. Opening times are 9-5.

From mid January there will also be plenty of plums and the first apples, although a bit tart will be on from Jan. 6.

There is no entrance fee at Pine Crest Orchard. Just pick the fruit and "we weigh, you pay".You can bring your own bags as long as they are not plastic bags or we can supply bags at 50 cents each.

We plan DV to be open each Friday, Saturday and Sunday until May.

Our "Gala Day" with free sausage sizzle and other activities is planned for January 28 when the first Gala apples will be ready. These apples are followed by the other varieties - Jonathan, Golden Deliciouus, Fuji and Pink Lady - through February, March, April and May.

At this stage the crop of apples, pears, peaches, plums and persimmons is looking good. Regulars will note that we have started netting some trees to reduce the tremendous losses from fruit bats we have incurred in recent years.

Looking forward to catching up with regular customers again and meeting plenty of new customers during 2012.
